The World is a GhettoWar's Papa Dee Allen had the idea for "The World is a Ghetto". Harold Brown, drummer, tells the story - "We had been living near Pomona, Ca and other areas, Compton, Ca, San Pedro, Ca. California and so on. We had been spending a ton of time in Malibu,Ca. Then we began understanding that people with money in some of these suburbs got their problems along with us, they got broke down cars and things to. So we began that the whole world was in fact a ghetto and it was actually up to each one of us on how we work with our surroundings. We genuinely think that anyone can succeed. It does not matter who you are or where you come from. We do not look at it the way masses say it, 'Well, if I do not collect a lot of wealth I am not successful.' Or, 'If I am not wearing a particular kind of clothes or driving a Porshe,' or 'I gotta have a house in Beverly Hills,' that does not mean I am unsuccessful. Well, through "The World is a Ghetto", what we are actually trying to say is you can be successful, as long as you do unto others as you are supposed to do. In other words, be a good neighbor. Work as a team. Work with each other. We do not need all these different political crap: I am a Republican, I am Democrat, I am Independent. We are righteous, that is what our band War stood for. We started out trying to bring everyone together through our music. That is why I imagine our music crossed all the worlds roadblocks, why it crossed over to every nationality."
