Low Rider Song
“Low Rider” is a song written and published by the band War and first appeared on their record album "Why Can’t We Be Friends?", which was released in 1975. It achieved #1 on the Billboard R&B charts, but peaked at #7 on the Pop Singles chart.
The All Music Guide gave War's Low Rider song a great review and included the following, “the Low Rider song takes the cool picture of the low rider - the Chicano culture practice of hydraulically hot-rodding classic cars - and by using innuendos, extends the image to a lifestyle”. Low Rider's most distinguishable characteristic is its driving bass line, which exist for almost the entire song. It also ends with a siren like noise that then becomes a saxophone solo.
Low Rider Lyrics
All my friends know the low rider The low rider is a little higher
The low rider drives a little slower Low rider, is a real goer
Low rider knows every street, yeah Low rider, is the one to meet, yeah
Low rider don't use no gas now The low rider don't drive too fast
Take a little trip, take a little trip Take a little trip and see Take a little trip, take a little trip Take a little trip with me
